It is with some regret that I have to announce that My Olympic Diary will be taking a little hiatus, until, bizarrely, after the Olympics. This is largely down to the strict guidelines that Gamesmakers have been given with regards to blogging, tweeting, and Facebooking their progress.
In fact, if LOCOG had their way, this blog would be stripped down to nothing more than 'went to London. Was good. Did stuff'.
I can't blame them. The Olympics are too important for people's safety to be compromised by an attention-seeking eighteen-year-old such as myself. This is not the end, however. This is just the beginning. What I plan to do is release my day-by-day account of 'the Greatest Show on Earth' after the Games, with increased levels of cynicism, and that slightly sarcastic sense of humour that pervades my every written word.
Who knows, when I've written it and you've read it, I may even have enhanced your opinion of the Games.
